Quick Update

I know my last post was on February, and it’s already May now. I’m lazy as a sloth (google it if you don’t know what sloth is). But in my defense, I also have some stuff to do that still need to be finished, despite my laziness.

I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in International Relations, and is on my second semester now. In fact, this semester is almost over, I guess it’s only about 2 or 3 meetings left and we all will be facing Finals. So I’m pretty much stuck with assignment.

But there is also another thing. I’ll be heading somewhere else next week. Somewhere in East. Where is it? You’ll find out. I actually plan to post my daily update while I’m there, so I guess, we could all just wait now?

See, this is indeed a quick update (it took me less than 15 minutes to write this post). Thanks for stopping by and have a quick reading about it as well. :)

Speaking About the Future

No, let’s not talk about married and having children yet. Let alone having my own kindergarten at home. Or teaching English somewhere (just some of my crazy dreams). I’m talking about some reading materials in my laptop (some of them also lying on my floor), waiting for me to read them, and mix them with my own thought, to create something called undergraduate dissertation. Or what we usually call in Bahasa Indonesia, SKRIPSI.

Hello, hello… That’s why I rarely go online and do stuff that I usually do in internet. It’s because I’m avoiding distraction, because I’m focusing on that thing. Yes, that thing, the “S” thing. Although, I have to admit it’s soooooo hard to stop myself from being lazy. There were times where I couldn’t even touch my laptop and press the “power” button just because I was too lazy to do it. Well, part of myself also felt a little bit afraid, afraid of what I’m gonna face once I open the “S” document. What if I start it and then suddenly go blank? Oh, well, the point is, I can always find excuses to not doing it. So, that’s why I’m kinda proud of myself, because yesterday I was brave enough to actually turned on my laptop and wrote something. :D

But I can’t even be more proud to everyone who keeps encouraging me, giving me tips, and praying for me. Those tips, and also those motivational talks, are really great! Thanks, I will try my best for my future. Yes, because this is one important phase in my life that I have to deal with to finally face the real future. Like it or not, my future requires me to finish this “S” thing. By the way, I try to motivate myself too. I named the “S” folder with “FUN STUFF TO DO”. Well, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But at least I tried. :P

Check out this photo if you don’t believe me.

check out the red circle. That's the folder!

Did you see it? Yeah, I actually named it “FUN STUFF TO DO”, although sometimes I think it’s not that fun. But, yeah, I’m that crazy. Hehe, wish me luck and please pray for me that I will finish it as soon as possible and get the best grade I can. :)

And I’d like to quote someone who once wrote this on his twitter: “TO THE FUTURE!”

Malas

Please, I hope you still want to give me some more time. Mungkin aku ga akan bisa lulus November, dan maafkan aku sekali lagi buat itu. Masih belum ada semangat, itu saja. Entah kenapa. Maaf maaf maaf…

Recent Stories

It’s been a while since my last post in this blog. I kinda miss writing in this blog, and there were so many ideas popped up in my head from time to time but never really got a chance to actually write it and let people read it (as if there are people reading my blog :P ).

Anywho… some updates:

1. I finished my KKN thing already. Or what we call in English: the community devotion. I have done it for two months in some small village near Jogja. Lots of fun memories, but there were also frustrating memories. I met a lot of people and was so grateful that my mates are just so fun to work with. After all, it was an unforgettable experience and I hope will be useful in the future.

2. Haven’t even started my thesis!!!! gosh, gosh, I’m such a big fat procrastinator. Need to find an encouragement. Anything, anyone. Whatever. As long as it encourages me. So I can start it ASAP.

3. Yesterday (June 20) was my third month anniversary with Rizza Nur Arfi Saldi. Well, just like any other people who are involved in any relationship, there are ups and downs. But I believe we’ll survive. For forever, I hope. Hehe… Ah, love. I believe that’s all we need to simply make it works. :)

And the rest? Well, doing good with my girlfriends/housemates. And with my brother, and sister, and of course my parents. I got sick for a few days now but I should be fine. So, I guess that’s all for now. Will do some more writing next time. Soon, I hope.

it’s nearly over

Miss Mandy said I have to write more English in my blog. Oh, btw, she is one of officer in International Relations Office in NUS and she’s taking care of the TF-NUS scholars. I guess I wrote in English a lot. But sometimes I just want to write in Bahasa Indonesia since it’s easier for me and makes me write faster. But this is good for me — writing in English — because I still have trouble on writing in English. That’s why I also have trouble with my essay here. *sigh*

Anyway, this past 3 weeks was crazy. I went to Bintan on 21-22 March with 15 people. All are exchange students. We were having fun, though all of us have so many assignment to do. And we ended up not doing the assignment well because we were so tired. The next weekend after Bintan (28 March) I went to Pulau Ubin also with some exchange students. We went for cycling and it was really fun. But it was also exhausting. Just like Bintan trip. The next weekend after Pulau Ubin trip — which is yesterday — also a busy weekend for almost all exchange students. The International Relations Office of NUS held a farewell tea for exchange students who went to NUS this semester on Friday. Ironically, I haven’t seen some of them. Since I didn’t come for the welcoming tea — because I was still in Indonesia at that time — and I also didn’t come for the orientation.

Just yesterday, a BBQ party held for TF-NUS students. Too bad not all of them were coming. Some of them are still doing their voluntary work. Well, good thing I have done my 10 hours community service, so I could make it to the BBQ. Before that, I went to Asian Civilization Museum with Josef, Morten, and Jess. That’s how I managed to get Josef walked me to the BBQ place. Because the place is so far and I have never been there before. The BBQ itself was so fun. Though deep down I’m still worrying about my essay (aaarrghh). But I’m really glad that I had a chance to get together with all fellow exchange students, at least once before we all go back to our countries.

Yeah, my journey in Singapore is nearly over. Just one month and then I have to go back and continue my real school (hehe) in UGM. I kinda feel sad about it, since it took a while for me to finally get settled and get used to everything here in Singapore. With all nice people I’ve met, and all the activities I’ve done. Though I miss all people back home, but I don’t feel like leaving so soon. I guess that’s why lately some people held so many events. And all of them involve “farewell” in it. I even stayed up so late these past 3 days just to play ping pong and fool around with some friends. It is exhausting, but maybe because we don’t have much time left, we want to use these remaining days to be together.

It feels like just yesterday when I first arrived in PGP steps and confused with all the new atmosphere that I have to live with for this semester. But now, I have to leave all these familiar steps, residence, rooms, food stalls, faces, and everything… I hope I don’t get too sad when it comes to the day for me to go home.

I can’t believe all of these are nearly over…
